ATCW AI Training Program

Better prompts.
Better outcomes.

A curated library of AI prompts for ATC Williams staff — engineering and corporate. Use the framework below to structure your own prompts, or browse, search and copy ready-made prompts for everyday tasks.

Guiding Principle

Use AI responsibly

AI is an assistant, not a substitute for engineering judgement. Always review and verify AI-generated outputs against project requirements, applicable standards, site conditions and your own technical knowledge before issuing them in any deliverable. AI may produce confident-sounding but incorrect content — fabricated references, outdated standards, or invalid assumptions.

Accountability for the work stays with the engineer.

The GCSE Prompt Framework

Every good prompt has four parts. Walk through these in order before you press send — it cuts back-and-forth and lifts the quality of the very first response you get back.

G

Goal

One verb-led sentence stating what you want done.

e.g. “draft a client email”, “review this calculation”, “summarise this report”
C

Context

The role you want AI to take and the background it needs — project type, audience, sensitivities, what to avoid.

e.g. “act as a senior dam engineer reviewing for ANCOLD compliance”
S

Source

The material to work from — attached document, pasted data, your previous response, or none.

e.g. “use only the data in the table below”
E

Expectations

Format, length, tone, what to flag, what NOT to do.

e.g. “table with columns Issue / Risk / Action, max 200 words, flag uncertainty”
